Elisabeth Magalhaes

Director & Master Trainer

Elisabeth has been a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor for over 27 years, instructing pole dance for over 13 years and most recently lyra. Her passion for dance and fitness as a child has now grown into her life long career.

Elisabeth has won various fitness competitions as well as PSO dramatic level 4 masters in 2013. As a previous studio owner, she has successfully taught many women (and men) the art of pole dance and loves watching her students grow and achieve things they never thought possible.

As the director of the Canadian Pole Fitness Association, she is very committed to promoting the pole and aerial community in a professional manner.

Whitney Cox

Master Trainer Flexibility/Fitness theory

Whitney is a certified personal fitness trainer through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), a CSEP High Performance Specialist™ and a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

She completed her diploma in Personal Fitness Training at NAIT, where she graduated with honours.

Whitney is a certified pole instructor through the Canadian Pole Fitness Association and workshop presenter. She is proud to have competed in Canadian Pole Fitness Championships in 2017, Pole Theatre Canada 2018 and PSO Sagittarius 2020.

Whitney has carved a niche for herself in both flexibility and chronic pain management, using an evidence-informed approach.

Chantelle Beasley

Pole

Chantelle Beasley has been in the pole fitness industry for 9 years, with studio ownership under her belt for 7. She currently owns four Aradia Fitness studio locations in the Edmonton, Alberta area and oversees a team of 40 instructors.

Chantelle is excited to be working with the CPFA team, as she has judged for CPFA competitions 5+ times. She is grateful for the incredible reputation that CPFA has built, and is honoured to be able to teach their well-known course material and knowledge to surrounding studios and instructors!

Anneke Russell

Pole / Aerial Hoop

For Anneke, fitness has been a part of her life from an early age.

As an adult Anneke spent 10 years serving in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Armoured Reconnaissance Soldier, in addition to becoming a licensed helicopter pilot. After participating in competitive sports and countless attempts at finding a traditional gym regime that she enjoyed, the search began to find something unique and – most decisively – fun!

This search lead Anneke to the discovery of pole fitness is 2012. It can be said that she has never looked back since! This fitness and art form became her passion quickly, as she grew to explore all areas of aerial arts – and in as many continents as possible! Anneke loves to take her passion internationally, whether that be for training, competing, or earning teacher certifications.

She has competed on both regional and international stages and has performed throughout the Maritimes. Her specialties and interests include dynamic and strength-based tricks, heel work, and flexibility training.

Anneke is inspired and motivated to introduce others to the world of aerial arts and fitness!

Sarah Polerina

Erotic Pole

Sarah fell head over Pleaser Heels for pole dancing in 2015 and specializes in low flow and heelwork. Her teaching practices are rooted in the fundamentals and focused on technique, sensuality and play, helping beginners to advanced dancers connect with their inner magic.

Sarah is a certified Heels and Liquid Motion Pole instructor, and has won several awards in Pole Sport Organization, CPFA Pro Supershow, and CPFA Nationals.

Melanie Doderai

Aerial Sling (Hammock)

Melanie Doderai has been an aerial coach with Aradia Fitness since 2005.  She holds B.A, B.Ed and M.Ed. and has completed teacher certification programs in aerial sling, aerial yoga, aerial silks, aerial hoop, pole and pole fabric.  Melanie brings a passion for making fitness fun and safe with an encouraging, non-competitive attitude. 

As a mother of two, Melanie is passionate about the importance of core stability and pelvic health for women.  Melanie has taken extensive training in pre/postnatal fitness and has worked with J’Adore Dance since 2009 specializing in postnatal fitness and early childhood movement.

Melanie is an active member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association, holds an Advanced Specialist Certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada and has published ten theory books for string instruments through Mel Bay Publications. Melanie has been awarded the 2009 Excellence in Music Teaching Award as well as the CMFTA Award for Recognition of Professional Achievement from 2010 to present.

 In 2018, Melanie combined her passion for violin and aerial arts into a unique and innovative art form known as aerial violin. To date, Melanie performs her act across Canada using aerial silks, aerial hoop, aerial cube, lollipop lyra and a flying harness.  She has taken extensive training in aerial rigging to support this passion. Melanie is proud to have the title of being Canada’s first aerial silk violinist and was recently featured on Canada’s Got Talent.  You can find out more about her at www.silkandstrings.ca 

Andreanne Langevin

French – Pole

Andréanne, a former figure skating enthusiast, discovered pole fitness at the end of 2012. This sport was brand new in Quebec and with her jack-of-all-trades temperament, she gave it a try. This first time subsequently transformed into passion, the perfect discipline according to her: an alloy between physical activity and the art of dance. She has been sharing her passion through teaching for 9 years now and is one of the owner of Studio Parallèle pole fitness in Quebec city.

Andréanne, ex passionnée de patinage artistique, a découvert le pole fitness à la fin de l’année 2012. Ce sport était tout nouveau à Québec et avec son tempéremment de touche à tout, elle a tenté l’expérience. Cette première fois s’est par la suite transformée en passion, la parfaite discipline selon elle : un alliage entre l’activité physique et l’art de la danse. Cela fait déjà 9 ans qu’elle partage sa passion à travers l’enseignement. Elle est également une des propriétaires du Studio Parallèle pole fitness à Québec.

Katie Cresswell

Aerial Hoop

Katie Cresswell is a circus artist, teacher and educator from mission, BC. Holding certificates in fitness, trampoline, aerial hoop, and rope access, she has studied, taught, and performed the circus arts across Canada, the US, and in the UK.  She is currently the head coach of Triumph Acrobatics Performing Arts Society.

Stefanie Eby

Dance / Heels

Stefanie Eby is Creative Director, Choreographer and Producer that is the founder of Eby Entertainment Inc. 

Stefanie has been involved in the Arts and Entertainment industry since the age of 4, beginning as a trained performer herself in both dancing and acting. Stefanie has trained as a performer for over 20 years in many dance styles, and over the last decade, shifted over to choreography and directing to help amplify the industry. Stefanie’s main mission is to improve the industry to become more strategic, purposeful and business minded while still maintaining a playful work space.

Stefanie’s most recent production, “Invite Only: The Essence of a Woman ” was an exciting burlesque-inspired supper and show series that took place just outside of Toronto, Ontario over the course of the summer. This production showcased a number of local talents that specialized in dance, aerial hoop and pole arts to carry a 60 minute show throughout the evening. This production was female-dominant, specifically focusing on redefining the meaning of adult entertainment from its historical roots of misogyny and the importance of allowing the feminine persona to officially take control in a classy, clever and empowering way. The production normalized the discussion of body positivity and sexuality and celebrates the essence of femininity through various eras and themes.

Acro Mel

Pole / Aerial Hoop

Born and raised in Canada, Mel has a rich background in aerial acrobatics, partner acrobatics, pole dance, yoga, dance, gymnastics, and general fitness. In 2013, she made history by opening the first pole and aerial studio in Qatar, and she currently oversees her thriving studio in Saudi Arabia.

With experience training and performing worldwide, Mel is primarily based in the Middle East, where she passionately teaches and performs, helping foster a growing circus community.

 Her Teaching Philosophy:
Mel’s classes are all about creating a comfortable and engaging environment for students to explore movement and deepen their connection with their bodies in a healthy and joyful way.

Vicky Sabourin

Translator

Vicky is a pole dancer & instructor from Montreal. She’s been doing pole for 12 years and teaching for the last 5 years.

Vicky has a masters degree in psycho-education which influences her learning and teaching style. She embarked on her entrepreneurship journey and she’s been pursuing her mission of building and supporting the connections within the pole community all over Canada in the most positive way possible.

She is a bilingual artist and creator who loves dynamic tricks, heel flow & choreo! Vicky is more than happy and proud to be a collaborator with the Canadian Pole Fitness Association.
